A delegation led by the President of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), Mohammed Jalood, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the 46th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia, visited the Akbar Jurayev Weightlifting Sports Club in the Soylik village, Bostanlyk district, and got acquainted with its activities.

To ensure the implementation of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on measures for the further development of weightlifting, a sports club named after Olympic champion Akbar Jurayev is being constructed in Soylik village at the initiative of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan.

The delegation reviewed the construction work. The distinguished guests expressed confidence that the sports club would become a center where prize winners of various competitions will be trained and prepared.

As part of the visit, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the International Weightlifting Federation and the Weightlifting Federation of Uzbekistan. In accordance with the memorandum, it was decided to regularly organize international seminars, training camps, and prestigious experience-sharing events at the Akbar Jurayev Weightlifting Sports Club.
