On 8-10 September, the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) and the International Apparel Federation (IAF) jointly hold their annual convention for the first time in their histories. This year’s venue is the ancient Silk Road city of Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
The convention theme is “Innovation, Cooperation and Regulation—Drivers of the Textile and Apparel Industry”. At the Samarkand convention, IAF and ITMF will bring together the entire supply chain, including raw material suppliers, spinners, weavers, machine suppliers, garment and home textile manufacturers, brands, retailers, solution providers, and educators.
Industry experts and leaders will discuss the relevance of innovation, cooperation, and regulation for our industry and how they will influence and shape the future. The convention will also introduce the Uzbek textile and garment industry to the rest of the world, providing a good view of this industry during the conference program and the planned factory visits.
The first day of the conference will be devoted to fibers, with the production and processing of natural cotton being the focus of discussion.
The second and main day of the conference will cover a wide range of current issues and global trends.
The culmination of the first joint conference will be the award ceremony of the ITMF Awards and ITMF Start-up Award, designed to recognize outstanding achievements and startups in the global textile industry.
To continue the international dialogue of textile industry leaders, the Global Textile Dialog forum will be held in Tashkent on September 13, 2024. Representatives of local and foreign organizations operating in this industry will once again gather.
