These days, when active preparations for the upcoming Asian Weightlifting Championships continue in Tashkent, delegations from different countries are arriving in Uzbekistan.

The national teams of Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Indonesia, judges and representatives of the technical commission have already arrived. The arrival of a group of international experts and members of the executive committee of the International and Asian Weightlifting Federations is expected.

At the meeting held by the Deputy Minister of Sports, First Deputy Chairman of the Weightlifting Federation of Uzbekistan Shakhrullo Makhmudov, issues of organizing high-level competitions, designing sports complexes where competitions will be held in accordance with international standards, organizing an emergency medical service to serve athletes, as well as providing high-speed Internet were discussed.

At the continental championships, which will be held at the Yunusabad Sports Complex on February 1-10, 239 weightlifters from 34 countries will compete for medals and ranking points for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
