The International Ice Hockey Federation grants full membership to the Uzbekistan Ice Hockey Federation
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Congress took place in Nice, where the Uzbekistan Ice Hockey Federation was officially granted full membership status.
Full membership provides Uzbekistan with voting rights at the IIHF Congress, eligibility to participate in men’s and women’s World Championships and Olympic qualifiers, as well as access to IIHF’s financial, technical, and educational programs. Member federations are required to adhere to the IIHF Statutes and regulations, including rules on player eligibility, anti-doping, and sports integrity.
In April, Uzbekistan’s national ice hockey team made its debut in the IIHF World Championship Division IV and won the tournament, with Armenia’s team taking second place.
