Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with the Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders Mohamed Abdelsalam.

The parties discussed strengthening large-scale ties with the Muslim Council of Elders and enhancing cooperation in maintaining religious tolerance and traditional Islamic values.

Mohamed Abdelsalam emphasized that the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan to adopt a special resolution of the UN General Assembly “Enlightenment and Religious Tolerance” was recognized internationally. The document became a powerful impetus for uniting efforts in this direction.

It was emphasized that Uzbekistan is of great importance to Muslims worldwide. The country’s scientists have left a great scientific heritage for the world.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on further enhancing relations, organizing visits by delegations, and joint organization of various scientific and practical events.
