An important political process, the referendum of the Republic of Uzbekistan, continues. Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov took part in the referendum on the renewed Constitution.

“Today we came to the referendum with my family. My second daughter is participating in the voting process for the first time”, Minister Sherzod Shermatov says. – The referendum, like elections, is a process that contributes to the implementation of democratic reforms in society. We are actively monitoring today’s process in our system. Our employees are participating in the referendum and expressing their civic position.

The word “Internet” is used in the renewed Constitution for the first time. Its importance in people’s lives is determined at the constitutional level. Another important issue is that the rules on the privacy of correspondence, telephone conversations, postal, electronic and other messages are determined separately. Thus, the Internet contains numerous personal data of people. If we do not establish a system for their proper protection, tomorrow the population, entrepreneurs, and all of us may face difficulties. Finding a solution to these issues imposes a great responsibility on us”, the Minister said.
