In cooperation with the Committee on Women and Gender Equality of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Institute for Legislative Problems and Parliamentary Studies under the Oliy Majlis, and the USAID Legal Reform Program in Uzbekistan, hosted a workshop on the procedure for gender legal review of legal documents and their draft laws.

Member of the Senate Committee on Women and Gender Equality Gulnora Marufova, Director of the Institute for Legislative Problems and Parliamentary Studies under the Oliy Majlis Foziljon Otakhonov, Deputy Director of the USAID Legal Reform Program in Uzbekistan Rakhima Nazarova expressed their opinion on the essence and importance of gender legal review.

As noted, gender legal review is an analysis of normative legal documents and their drafts for compliance with the principles of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men.
