The Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission, Ambassador Urszula Gacek, and long-term observers of the mission, who are in Samarkand, met with the leaders of the 7th Samarkand District Election Commission.
The Chairman of the District Election Commission Kh. Muhammadiyev spoke about the preparations for the early elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the work carried out by the district commission. Ambassador Urszula Gacek was interested in the issues of choosing members of precinct election commissions, remuneration for their work, and organization of the process of early elections.

The parties also discussed the organization of classes for members of precinct election commissions, the process of counting votes on election day, and the participation of international observers in the compilation of votes in constituencies. The Chairman of the District Commission noted that in Uzbekistan, the electoral process is carried out based on the national electoral legislation, and all events, except for the voting process, are conducted publicly and openly. As a result of the passage by members of the commissions of several preparatory stages, and the conduction of campaigns among the population about the electoral legislation, there are practically no law violations, and the problems that arise are solved and eliminated in the work process.
