An important political event – the elections of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and Local Councils is about to take place.

The delegation of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Mission for the Parliamentary Elections in Uzbekistan visited the Fergana region. The Mission’s Head, Douglas Wake, and its representative, Rashad Shirinov, accompanied by long-term OSCE observers Benedicte Williams and Michael Haussmann, got acquainted with the territorial election commission’s activities.

The Chairman of the Commission, Erkinjon Nuraliyev, answered the guests’ questions in detail about the upcoming elections in Uzbekistan and preparations for them.
