Fosteriana tulip is a perennial plant. This type of tulip belongs to the Liliaceae family.
According to the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the natural distribution of this plant reaches the Pamir mountains and nearby regions of Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. The height of this tulip is 40-55 cm, it has a thick stem, and 3-5 leaves. It blooms in March-April. Large red flowers often with a black base.
The Latin epithet Fosteriana is associated with Michael Foster, a British cauliflower specialist. The tulip is distributed in the area of the Zeravshan Range, on Takhtakaracha pass, around the villages of Urgut and Otaliq. It grows on hills covered with shrubs.
