The form of the ballot paper approved

A regular meeting of the Central Election Commission took place.

The participants considered the issues of approving the form, text, and description of the ballot for the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, establishing additional measures for the implementation of video broadcasting of the electoral process at some polling stations, introducing as an experiment a biometric voter identification system, accrediting observers from international organizations and foreign states, as well as local media and several other issues.

Opening the meeting, CEC Chairman Z. Nizomkhujayev noted that preparations for the upcoming important political process are being carried out in accordance with all requirements.

Head of the CEC Secretariat Khudoyor Teshayev spoke on the first issue of the agenda and presented the form, text, and description of the voting ballot for the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As noted, the ballot paper is a document confirming the vote of the voter. Surnames, names, and patronymics of presidential candidates on the ballot papers, the results of the vote count at the polling station, and protocols of election results by constituencies will be printed in the Uzbek language based on the Latin alphabet.

The meeting participants approved the form, text, and description of the ballot for voting in the presidential elections.

In addition, the participants discussed the accreditation of observers from international organizations that will participate in the early elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. By the decision of the CEC, 43 representatives from observer missions, such as the OSCE/ODIHR and the CIS, were accredited. The total number of accredited international observers has reached 55 people.

The issue of accreditation of representatives of local mass media was considered. Based on the appeals received by the CEC, 124 representatives of 25 media were accredited. A total of 353 media representatives have been accredited.
