The flow of Belarusian tourists to Uzbekistan tripled over the past year
11:21 / 2024-03-15

The flow of Belarusian tourists to Uzbekistan has tripled over the past year. Director of the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism Irina Voronovich spoke about this in the project of UzA partner BelTA “The Country is Speaking”.

In 2022, more than 1.5 million tourists traveled within the country. “There shouldn’t be fewer of them this year. We see this in the objects, the load, and the interest of our citizens”, Mr. Voronovich said.

More than 1.6 million foreigners visited Belarus last year, and the country is developing interactions with friendly countries.

“The Head of State recently visited Uzbekistan. We are interacting with Uzbek colleagues and have already signed a plan for 2024. The indicators show that the flow of Belarusian tourists to this country over the past year has increased threefold compared to 2022. Uzbekistan is an interesting and beautiful country with a completely different history and culture. It is important to develop domestic tourism based on reciprocity with other countries because when returning, a person loves and appreciates his country even more”, the Director said.

In addition, Belarus maintains close cooperation with the Russian Federation. “We work closely with the regions, and Russians come to the Rest 2023 exhibition with large stands and interesting offers. Belarusians also open up their neighboring country from a new perspective”, Irina Voronovich noted.
