The opening ceremony of the “Five Initiatives Olympiad and Paralympiad” projects was held at the Andijan Olympic and Paralympic Sports Training Centre, with the participation of the Regional Administration, officials of the Sports Department, representatives of partner organizations, sports veterans, sportsmen, students, and youth.
At the ceremony, Komiljon Komilov, the Deputy Hokim of the region, Utkirbek Toshpulatov, the Head of the Sport Department, and others spoke about the “Five Initiatives Olympiad and Paralympiad”, emphasizing that it is a broad platform for opportunities for youth to demonstrate their talents and abilities, as well as the project that supports, encourages, and enhances their engagement.
These events are significant as they aim to help youth spend their leisure time meaningfully, popularize national sports among youth, encourage their talents, abilities, and initiatives, and help them find their place in life.
Intellectual games such as “Zakovat” and “Quvnoqlar va Zukkolar”, competitions like “Yosh Kitobkhon” and other contests, as well as, sports disciplines such as checkers and chess, “Street Workout”, athletics, table tennis, volleyball, streetball, national wrestling and esports conducted among teams within the framework of the projects are really creating wide opportunities for youth to showcase their abilities.
At the event, a group of mahalla youth leaders and representatives of the sports sector were awarded for organizing last year’s season of the project’s sporting events in an exemplary manner.
