The first stage of the Uzbekistan – Russian joint venture – the agrologistics complex BMB-NRC Agrologistics, established on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, was launched in Sharaf Rashidov district, Jizzakh region, Uzbekistan.
The event organized in this regard was attended by official representatives of the governments of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan, the ministries of agriculture, investment, industry and trade, economy and finance of Uzbekistan, hokimiyats of Jizzakh and other regions of the country, the city of Tashkent and the Sharaf Rashidov district, and the leadership of BMB Holding, Uzbekistan Industrial and Construction Bank, Uzkarantin inspections, representatives of the Customs Committee, as well as a delegation of Russian partners, representatives of the Rosselkhoznadzor Agency, the Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan.
Hokim of Jizzakh region Ergash Soliyev congratulated the event participants on the launch of the first stage of the agrological complex of the Uzbekistan – Russian joint venture BMB-NRC Agrologistics and noted that more than 30 Uzbekistan – Russian joint ventures are successfully operating in Jizzakh region. The joint venture, which began work today, is designed to quickly and easily export agricultural products to Russia and other countries and has become a striking example of practical cooperation between the two countries.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojayev and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk addressed the event via videoconference. As noted, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia has been established based on mutual trust and strong friendly relations, mutually beneficial dialogues continue, and promising projects in various fields are successfully implemented.
The founders solemnly handed over the symbolic key of the BMB-NRC Agrologistics.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Sergey Levin and Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibragim Abdurakhmanov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Sergey Lisovsky, one of the founders of the BMB-NRC Agrologistics complex, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BMB Holding Bekzod Mamatkulov noted that the income of farmers from exporting agricultural products through the joint venture will increase by 2 times. The process will become 4 times more manageable.
The BMB-NRC Agrologistics complex is unique. It has introduced processes for sorting, processing, packaging, and storing agricultural products grown in various regions of the country, as well as processing customs, banking, and sanitary documents based on the “one window” principle, providing transport and logistics services. Another important aspect is that our suppliers can directly export products to Russia and other countries, having certificates from the accredited Rosselkhoznadzor laboratory, which is constantly operating here.
At the same time, the first stone was laid for the construction of the following stages of the joint venture. It is planned to begin soon. Projects worth 225 billion 100 million UZS include freeze-drying and blast-freezing fruits and vegetables.
As part of the event, representatives of more than 150 large agricultural enterprises of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Tashkent, and the regions organized an exhibition demonstrating their export potential. During the inspection of the exhibitions, practical dialogues took place between exporters and importers. Several agreements have been reached to establish partnerships.
Participants in the opening of the enterprise planted seedlings on the territory of the complex to create a garden as part of the nationwide project “Yashil Makon” (Green Space).
“This agrologistics complex, built on 40 hectares in our district, will include three modules. The annual capacity for sorting, processing, and packaging agricultural products at each stage’s full capacity will be 270 thousand tons. With the full launch of all lines, it will be possible to sort and store in refrigerated chambers with a capacity of 10 thousand tons, process and package for the export of 810 thousand tons of agricultural products”, said the Hokim of Sharaf Rashidov district, Mahmud Kholbutayev. “One of the unique advantages of Uzbekistan – Russian joint venture BMB-NRC Agrologistics is the great opportunities created not only for our district and region, but also for farmers and representatives of agricultural clusters of all regions of the country”.
The total project cost of this modern complex is 709 billion 71 million UZS.
Most importantly, 180 permanent and more than 400 seasonal jobs are being created. When the complex operates entirely, 1,410 residents will receive permanent jobs.
Over the past period, through investments of 484 billion 62 million UZS, the necessary infrastructure for the full functioning of the agrological complex has been created within the project. In particular, laboratory equipment for PCR testing, phytosanitary and sanitary-epidemiological certification has been installed in the regional divisions of the Customs Committee, the Agency for Quarantine and Plant Protection, and Uzbekistan Industrial and Construction Bank.
