The first online meeting of the Working Group on the Study of Transport Corridors between Uzbekistan and Malaysia
The first online meeting of the Working Group on the Study of Transport Corridors Uzbekistan – Malaysia took place with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, representatives of the Ministry of Transport of Malaysia, the leadership of the main railway operator KTMB – Malayan Railways LTD and representatives of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan Railways JSC.
At the meeting, a Working Group consisting of representatives of the transport and railway sectors of the two countries exchanged information on transport routes connecting Malaysia and Uzbekistan by rail. Attention was drawn to the fact that the Tashkent – Shymkent (Kazakhstan) – Urumqi – Xi'an – Chongqing – Kunming (China) – Laos – Thailand – Perlis – Klang (Malaysia) route is a transport corridor connecting both countries only by rail.
Measures to be implemented between the parties on the study and use of this route have been defined.
Following the meeting and to develop the concept of this railway corridor, the Working Group agreed on the development of calculations and data exchange.
