During the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Türkiye, the First Ladies of the two countries, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva and Emine Erdoğan, took part in several cultural events.

The First Ladies visited the People’s Library under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Türkiye. In 2020, at its grand opening ceremony, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ziroat Mirziyoyeva were the guests of honor.

During this visit, a tour of the library was conducted. This magnificent 11-story complex includes a central lobby, reading rooms, archives and laboratories, exhibition halls, and cafeterias. The collection consists of 4 million books and 700 thousand periodicals.

In honor of the guests, the library organized an applied art exhibition. The First Ladies of Uzbekistan and Türkiye visited the exhibition. The traditions and crafts, testifying to the cultural roots of our people, made a vivid impression on the guests.

In connection with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye, the library organized an exhibition dedicated to Fatih Sultan Mehmet. Ziroat Mirziyoyeva examined it with great interest.

Here are swords, armor, helmets of the Sultan, and many artifacts related to the history of that time. The exhibition tells about Mehmet’s childhood, the period of his reign, the conquest of Istanbul, and scientific life.

The First Ladies also toured an exhibition of national costumes and carpets, demonstrating the unique traditions, textile styles, and symbols of the regions of Türkiye.

After the cultural events, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva and Emine Erdoğan held a bilateral meeting. During the dialogue, the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the people of the two countries and the exchange of experience in tourism, ecology, health, and education was emphasized.

The First Ladies’ meeting took place in a traditionally sincere and friendly atmosphere.
