19:31 / 2024-07-26

A briefing was held in the Press Center of the Central Election Commission with the participation of the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Zayniddin Nizomkhodjayev.

It was noted that today, the election campaign for the elections of deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan and deputies of local councils began. The polls will be held on October 27.

A calendar plan has been drawn up indicating the dates for the creation of district, city, and regional election commissions for the preparation and conduct of elections, the organization of electoral districts and polling stations, the compilation of a list of voters, the registration of political parties participating in the elections, including candidates and their authorized representatives.

150 deputies are elected to the Legislative Chamber for five years, 75 are elected in single-mandate constituencies, and the rest – based on a list of candidates nominated by political parties.

The Chairman of the Central Election Commission informed about the new “E-Saylov” system. Through this system, election commissions interact with political parties, candidates, observers, and the media. It is integrated with other electronic platforms. Most election procedures are automated and exclude the human factor.

The briefing provided detailed information on the open and transparent conduct of all activities related to the preparation and conduct of elections.
