London hosted a Festival of “Culture and National Dishes of Uzbekistan”. The event was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London, the Tourism Committee, the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, “Vatandoshlar” Public Foundation, and Uzbekistan Airways with the support of the Uzbek diaspora and entrepreneurs in London.
The festival was held in one of the city’s most famous tourist alleys, next to the Tower Bridge. Special stands presented national costumes, folk and applied art samples, books, and brochures, introducing guests to Uzbekistan's rich cultural heritage and tourist potential.
An extensive program was prepared for visitors, with the participation of famous artists, artisans, designers, tour operators, and chefs from more than 100 countries around the world. The preparation of two tons of pilaf in huge cauldrons, which were specially made for this event, became the culmination of the festival.
Over 30,000 people attended the event, including British officials, businesspeople, scientists, cultural figures, diplomats, and foreign tourists. Local and foreign media covered it extensively.
