A literary festival dedicated to the work of the Hero of Uzbekistan, national poet Erkin Vakhidov was held in the Green Hills Resort, located in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region.

The project was organized by the UzReport channel in collaboration with the Hokimiyat of Tashkent region, the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan and JSCB Turonbank. 

Lovers of literary art, writers and poets, young people, relatives, and friends of the poet were invited to this celebration of literature, which took place in an unusually sincere, welcoming atmosphere away from formalities. 

The congratulations of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the participants of the literary festival were read by the Press Secretary to the President, Sherzod Asadov. It was emphasized that the legacy of such significant figures like Erkin Vakhidov, Abdulla Aripov, Halima Khudoyberdiyeva, and Muhammad Yusuf is of great importance in today’s challenging conditions of globalization when the urgent issue is protecting the consciousness and thinking of our youth from various dangerous ideas and views, developing in them a boundless love for national literature, respect for their native language. The President thanked the festival organizers, Erkin Vakhidov’s relatives and friends, and literature fans and supported the proposal to hold it annually. 

The daughter of the outstanding poet Mokhira Vakhidova, addressing those present, expressed gratitude to the Head of state for the attention and respect for the memory of her father and noted the undying interest of the Uzbek people in his work, which is confirmed by this festival. 

Following the event, memorable gifts were presented. The participants planted the first trees of the future park named after Erkin Vakhidov, created as part of the national project “Yashil Makon.”
