The delegation of the Agency for Quarantine and Plant Protection got acquainted with the activities of the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism of Croatia with the aim of scientific and practical development of the sphere of quarantine and plant protection, as well as harmonization of research methods with international requirements.

The experience exchange project was implemented with the support of the German Society for International Cooperation.

As part of the project, agency experts also visited the grape plantation of the Agrolaguna company, located in the city of Porec.

Experts became familiar with the practice of growing disease- and pest-resistant grape varieties and Croatia’s experience in harvesting ripe produce.

The Institute’s research on plant protection and adaptation of crops to climate change, as well as its economic accounting system, are highly appreciated.

It is planned to integrate this advanced experience into the domestic field of phytosanitary.
