Ambassador of Uzbekistan Dilyor Khakimov has met with Secretary-General of the Energy Charter Guy Lentz and Deputy Secretary-General Atsuko Hirose.

Guy Lentz officially handed over to the Uzbek side a report on the “In-depth review of the policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the energy efficiency”, prepared by the Energy Charter Secretariat jointly with the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

The head of the organization noted that the comprehensive analysis carried out will improve energy efficiency, is aimed at demonstrating the capabilities of Uzbekistan in the energy industry and will help attract new foreign investment in this strategic sector of the economy of the country.

The head of the Energy Charter noted that the annual ministerial meeting of the Energy Charter Conference is planned in Brussels in June 2022 and the organization counts on the participation of the Uzbek side in the high-level event.

The upcoming chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the Energy Charter Conference in 2023 was also discussed. An agreement was reached on active interaction to coordinate all issues related to the chairmanship, including the preparation and holding of a ministerial meeting in Uzbekistan in 2023.
