Emperor Naruhito of Japan awarded the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Foreign Policy Abdulaziz Kamilov with the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun. The award was presented to its owner in a solemn ceremony at the Emperor’s residence in Tokyo.

The Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun is considered one of the oldest awards in Japan and was awarded to Mr. Kamilov for his tremendous and long-term contribution to strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.

Emperor Naruhito presented the order with the participation of the country’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. The order is considered the oldest in Japan and has been awarded since 1875. It is the country’s highest award.
