The Embassy of Uzbekistan hosted an event for members of the British Guild of Travel Writers (BGTW).
The Guild, founded in 1960, unites outstanding British writers, photographers, bloggers, and journalists specializing in tourism. This community has been a leader in the tourism media industry for more than six decades, setting high standards of professionalism.
The event was attended by 60 BGTW members, including national and international editors, journalists, and presenters. Participants write articles for authoritative publications like the Guardian, Times, Telegraph, and others. Many of them are also authors of country guides, which makes their opinion especially valuable in promoting tourist destinations.
During the event, representatives of the Embassy held a presentation dedicated to the rich tourism potential of Uzbekistan. The guests’ attention was drawn not only to the ancient history and cultural heritage of the country, but also to promising areas of tourism, including ecotourism, gastronomic tourism and pilgrimage routes.
The presentation received a positive response from the event participants. The guests asked many questions, noted the uniqueness of Uzbekistan as a tourist destination, and shared their thoughts on how to tell the international audience about the country.
Following the event, agreements were reached to organize a familiarization visit of the guild members to Uzbekistan to create content and materials that will help popularize the country among tourists.
