Work on preparations for the snap presidential elections in Uzbekistan, to be held on July 9, has entered an active phase.
By the decision of the Central Election Commission of June 5, candidates for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan were registered from the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan – Ulugbek Ilyasovich Inoyatov, from the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan – Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev, from the Social Democratic Party “Adolat” – Robakhon Anvarovna Makhmudova, from the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan – Abdushukur Khudoykulovich Khamzayev. It was also announced that from June 7, the election campaign of candidates for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan begins.
Campaigning can be carried out through public debates, discussions, press conferences, citizens’ meetings, interviews, speeches, and the placement of commercials in the media. One of the effective methods of agitation is the mass media, telecommunications networks, and the Internet. In this regard, the resolution of the Central Election Commission approved the air space and time for campaigning on television and radio channels of the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, in the newspapers “Yangi O’zbekiston”, “Pravda Vostoka”, “Khalk Suzi”, “Narodnoye Slovo” and in 24 other newspapers of local publications. Political parties have equal opportunities to effectively use the airtime and space provided in publications to campaign for their candidates.
In addition, election campaigning is carried out by producing and distributing printed, visual, audiovisual, and other campaign materials (posters, leaflets).
