On this theme, an international forum was organized on April 26 in Farish district of Jizzakh region. Large customers, representatives of construction enterprises and design institutes, interested ministries and agencies, and domestic and foreign entrepreneurs participated in the event.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during a visit to Jizzakh region on April 8-9, 2024, identified specific tasks for widely popularizing the benefits of products manufactured by the Basalt Uzbekistan cluster, accelerating research work and further intensifying promotion to the foreign market.

The international forum, organized in accordance with this in cooperation between Uzbekistan Industrial and Construction Bank (SQB) and the Uzqurilishmateriallari Association, became a platform for its participants to exchange experiences and establish fruitful mutual contacts.

The forum presented the cluster’s current capabilities and plans for the future. The attention of many was attracted by the fact that 80 percent of the special fiber and 42 types of products obtained per year from 177 thousand tons of basalt stone are exported to countries such as the United States, England, Poland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Russia, Türkiye, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.

According to the forum program, participants got acquainted with the current state and prospects for producing innovative basalt-based building materials in Uzbekistan.

Views were exchanged on issues of product quality and characteristics, laboratory testing and certification, and logistics. A presentation was made on world standards, research, innovations, advanced technologies, and equipment in this direction.

The participation of academic researchers further increased the significance of the forum. Everyone was interested in the recommendations they gave on enhancing the physical and mechanical properties of basalt products.
