At the meeting, chaired by the President, it was emphasized that it is necessary to reduce the cost of construction to provide the population with affordable housing.

To this end, it was decided to:

– cancel the customs duty on imports of wood, plywood, wood formwork, glass until 2025;

– extend benefits on customs duties on high-quality cement for another 1 year (due to this, the cost of housing will decrease by 5 percent);

– give contractors the right to mortgage a house under construction floor by floor and receive a loan for each floor;

– continue the practice of state refinancing of loans provided by banks;

– improve the procedure for providing guarantees to builders and paying compensation;

– the population will be issued loans for 10 years up to 80 million UZS at 16.5 percent for the repair of their housing using energy-saving materials.
