The Consul General of Kazakhstan visited the regional Printing House
14:46 / 2025-01-16

Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Samarkand Talgat Sharipov visited the regional Printing House and got acquainted with the newspapers’ activities and the history of the Press.

The Consul General was informed about the activities of the regional press, the history of which goes back more than a hundred years, including the newspapers “Zarafshan”, “Samarkand Herald” and “Ovozi Samarkand”. An exchange of views took place on the importance of information in today’s turbulent times and on the prompt and high-quality delivery of news to people. The readiness of the Consulate of Kazakhstan to cooperate closely with regional media was expressed.

“I know brotherly Uzbekistan and the Uzbek people well”, says Talgat Sharipov. “Before working in Samarkand, I worked at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan. At that time, I came to Samarkand on business, but was unfamiliar with the local press. Now, working in this ancient and beautiful city, I am glad of this opportunity. I have witnessed that Samarkand is important not only for its historical monuments and shrines, but also for the history of its journalism. We profess the same religion and have a common language, which means our way of life and development goals are similar. The transformations and similarities in journalism are the same. Therefore, to strengthen cultural, creative, scientific, and historical ties between the two states and fraternal peoples, we intend to write articles and prepare programs about Kazakhstan in Samarkand and about this historical city – in our print media and on TV channels also planned to organize a press tour to Kazakhstan”.

The Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Samarkand began its activities in April 2021.
