The construction of a thermal power plant launched

At an online event held the other day with the participation of the President of Uzbekistan, the construction of a thermal power plant in Jizzakh region was launched.

The event was attended by the Hokim of Jizzakh region Ergash Soliyev, the Director General of Cenergo LLC Esat Caner Karabay, labor veterans, and builders.

In accordance with the resolution of the Head of state on the construction of a combined cycle thermal power plant with a capacity of 450 MW in Jizzakh region and to develop energy capacities by attracting foreign direct investment, sustainable and high-quality provision of economic sectors and the population with electricity in Sharaf Rashidov district, the first stone was laid for the construction of a combined cycle thermal power plant.

The 450 MW thermal power plant project cost $340 million, but Turkish investors have offered to invest $500 million and build a 520 MW plant.

At an online event held with the participation of the President, the construction of a thermal power plant in Jizzakh region was launched. During an online dialogue, First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Azim Ahmadkhujayev presented information to the Head of state about the project and the prospects for a combined cycle thermal power plant.

The construction of the station will be carried out by the Turkish investor Cengiz Enerji San. ve Tic. A.Ş. and the design company LLC Cenergo. An area of 9.5 hectares has been allocated for the station.

The station will generate 4 billion 100 million kWh of electricity per year. Savings of 700 million cubic meters of natural gas will be achieved.

Commissioning of the thermal power plant is scheduled for 2025.
