The composition of district election commissions has been approved

At a meeting of the Regional Election Commission of Samarkand region, the issue of creating a District Election Commission to hold elections to the Council of People’s Deputies of Samarkand region was considered.

According to Article 21 of the Election Code, the District Election Commission is formed by the relevant territorial election commission no less than seventy days before the elections. The commission consists of a chairman, deputy chairman, secretary, and six to eight members.

– Candidates for members of the District Election Commission for holding elections to the Council of People’s Deputies of Samarkand region were discussed at meetings of district and city Councils of People’s Deputies and submitted to the Regional Election Commission for approval through the “E-saylov” system, – said Deputy Chairman of the Regional Election Commission Sanjar Nazarov. – According to the information, the District Election Commission includes 660 authoritative public representatives. Among them, 268 (41 percent) are women, and 427 citizens (65 percent) previously worked in election commissions and have experience in this area. Among the members of the commission, 334 (51 percent) are teachers, 87 (13 percent) are economists, 56 (8 percent) are doctors, 32 (5 percent) are engineers.

A decision was made at the meeting to approve the composition of 60 district election commissions for holding elections to Samarkand Regional Council of People’s Deputies. It was determined that the composition of the district election commissions would be published in the media.
