Commissioner for Human Rights of the Oliy Majlis (Ombudsman) Feruza Eshmatova has met with members of the delegation of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE/ODIHR), led by Eoghan Murphy.

The meeting was also attended by the Commissioner for Children’s Rights Aliya Yunusova.

According to the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights, the parties exchanged views on the conditions created for voters in the Presidential Elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2021, and on the role of the Ombudsman in ensuring the political rights of voters.

During the talks, an exchange of views took place on the recommendations put forward in the final report of the ODIHR mission to observe the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The guests noted that these recommendations play an important role in the adaptation of international best practices in the electoral legislation of Uzbekistan.
