Members of the delegation led by the Commissioner for Children’s Rights – Deputy Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Aliya Yunusova have met with the Chairperson of Egypt’s Senate Committee on Human Rights and Social Cohesion, Senator Mohamed Ahmed Abdel-Salam Heiba.

The parties discussed issues of strengthening bilateral, in particular inter-parliamentary, relations. Mrs. Aliya Yunusova, in turn, noted the depth of strategic relations between Egypt and Uzbekistan and the importance of exchange of visits. She emphasized the existence of a permanent connection between the parliaments of the two countries, which open up prospects for cooperation.

The sides exchanged views on the protection of the rights of young people, including children currently studying in Egypt, from the negative influence of religious extremism and terrorism.

During the talks, an agreement was reached on signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Egyptian Senate Committee on Human Rights and Social Cohesion and the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman).
