The CIS Foreign Ministers Council meeting kicked off in Samarkand this morning with a meeting in a contracted format.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Aleinik, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirodjiddin Muhriddin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov, as well as Secretary General of the CIS Sergey Lebedev, are attending the meeting.

At the event, the parties will exchange views on current issues of the international agenda and cooperation in the Commonwealth format.

Following the meeting, it is planned to sign several documents.
