During his stay in Samarkand, Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz visited the International Tourism Academy.

The Academy opened in 2023 as part of the 25th session of the General Assembly of the UN World Tourism Organization in Samarkand and functions as an important international center for training highly qualified specialists in tourism industry development.

Graduates of the education institution receive diplomas recognized by the member states of this industry organization of the UN system.

The distinguished guest was acquainted with the conditions created at the Academy and the large-scale work carried out in Uzbekistan to create a modern tourism infrastructure.
