The chairmanship in the CIS passes to Kyrgyzstan
The Kyrgyz Republic has taken over the chairmanship of the CIS since January 1, 2023.
According to the CIS Executive Committee, the decision of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of October 14, 2022, provides that the chairmanship of the CIS during 2023 will be carried out by Kyrgyzstan simultaneously in the Council of Heads of State, the Council of Heads of Government, the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Economic Council, the permanent plenipotentiary representatives of the member states of the Commonwealth to the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth, as well as the Commission on Economic Issues under the Economic Council of the CIS.
Kazakhstan (chair in 2022) and Russia (chair in 2024) will co-chair.
