The Central Asian Championship with a prize fund of $3,000 kicks off in Tashkent

The Central Asian Championship has kicked off at the International Chess Academy.

The open tournament is being attended by 34 chess players from Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. It will last until May 15. In the tournament with a prize fund of $3,000, the athletes who took 1st and 2nd places will get the right to participate in the World Cup. 

After the 1st round, there was not a single game with a draw. 17 athletes recorded a point.

Among the winners are talented chess players from Uzbekistan such as Nodirbek Abdusattarov, Nodirbek Yakubbayev, Jakhongir Vokhidov, Shamsiddin Vokhidov, Bobir Sattorov, Ortiq Nigmatov.
