The Business Support Project opens new opportunities for local companies
17:40 / 2024-11-01

USAID has been collaborating with the government of Uzbekistan in various sectors for several years. This collaboration is carried out through projects in different economic fields.

The USAID Business Support Project (BSP) is one such initiative. Through the BSP, USAID significantly supports small and medium-sized businesses in Uzbekistan, creating opportunities for their development and access to international markets.

Recently, the 9th International Exhibition “Textile and Fashion Industry – UzTextileExpo Autumn 2024” was held in Tashkent, featuring 20 textile and sewing companies. This event is held twice a year and includes local producers and foreign companies from Türkiye, China, India, Russia, and Belarus.

“This year, we participated in this international exhibition with our brand. Previously, we did not have the opportunity to participate in such prestigious events. Thanks to the USAID Business Support Project, we were able to seize this opportunity. The exhibition served as a platform for me to network, communicate, and establish partnerships. We reached agreements with companies from Luxembourg and Pakistan. I would like to express my gratitude to the USAID team for allowing us to participate in this important event and for their contribution to developing women’s businesses”, said Kamola Aliyeva, Founder of Urban Style LLC.

At the exhibition, 20 companies presented their products under brands such as EcoStar, Limax Gold, Haj Tex, Beknur, Colibri Textile, Unity, and Look at Me.

As part of this project, representatives of local enterprises not only had the opportunity to participate in the exhibition but also to effectively showcase their products, negotiate with international partners, and participate in special training sessions on promoting brands at a global level.

“By attending the training, I learned more about USAID projects. This event was beneficial for producers in every way. Moreover, we had the opportunity to present our products, find partners, and communicate during the three-day exhibition. I would like to stay informed about every idea and proposal promoted by this organization in the future”, said Yulduz Rasul-zade, founder of Colibri Textile.

The Business Support Project has been beneficial for local enterprises in every respect. It will serve as a foundation for their long-term and sustainable development.
