President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping’s book ‘On Respecting and Protecting Human Rights’, first published in the Uzbek language, was presented in Tashkent.
The event was organized by the Chinese Society for the Study of Human Rights, the Administration for the Publication and Distribution of Literature in Foreign Languages of the People’s Republic of China, the Embassy of China in Uzbekistan, and the National Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights.
The presentation of the book was attended by Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference of the 14th convocation, Vice Chairperson of the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs, Executive Vice President of the China Society for Human Rights Studies, Jiang Jianguo, Director of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights, Akmal Saidov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Uzbekistan Yu Jun, Vice President of the Chinese Department for the Publication and Distribution of Literature in Foreign Languages of the People’s Republic of China, Yu Tao, representatives of the diplomatic corps, scientific and academic circles, government agencies, public organizations, media, as well as human rights experts from China and Uzbekistan.
The speakers emphasized the importance of the book “On Respecting and Protecting Human Rights” as an authoritative source revealing China’s conceptual approaches to human rights issues, and noted that its publication in Uzbek opens up new opportunities for scientific exchange, deepening interstate dialogue and expanding humanitarian cooperation.
Following the event, the guests and participants were presented with copies of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s book “On Respecting and Protecting Human Rights” in Uzbek.
