The publication is based on the study of samples of tangible culture discovered over more than 10 years by a joint scientific expedition of Russia and Uzbekistan in the Uzundara monument in Surkhandarya region’s Sayrab village in Baysun district.

The introduction to this publication contains memorable words dedicated to Academician Edvard Rtveladze. In the book, readers can get acquainted with the map of the military campaigns of Alexander the Great and the stratigraphic view of the military fortress of Uzundara. It presents photographs of about 200 archaeological artifacts found during archaeological excavations.

The first volume of “Bactria” was transferred to the library of Termez Archaeological Museum by the scientist-archaeologist Nigora Dvurechenskaya.
