The Asian Women’s U19 Handball Championship has kicked off in Tashkent. Ten of the continent’s strongest national teams are competing in the tournament. The teams that advance to the semifinals will qualify for the U20 World Championship to be held next year.

The Asian Handball Championship has been held since 1999, and this year marks its 17th edition. The South Korean national team is the only team to have won the continental title 16 times, while India has claimed the championship once.

Uzbekistan’s team is competing in Group A.

The group stage schedule is as follows:

Matchday 1: Uzbekistan vs. India (August 20, 18:30)

Matchday 2: Uzbekistan vs. Hong Kong (August 21, 18:00)

Matchday 3: Uzbekistan vs. Chinese Taipei (August 24, 18:00)

Matchday 4: Uzbekistan vs. China (August 25, 18:00)

Today, the Uzbekistan national team will play its first group match against India at the Alpomish Ice Palace.
