The republican phase of the “best information-resource centre of the year” contest has taken place in Andijon.
The republican phase of the “best information-resource centre of the year” contest has taken place in Andijon.Special attention being paid under the leadership of the President to the popularization of reading and the raising of book-reading culture is an important factor in the enlightenment of people and in the bringing up of the young generation with high morals.
This contest serves to improve the work of information-resource centres at secondary special education and vocational training establishments and to make sure that the ranks of book-lover students grow.
“Today more than 1 thousand 550 information-resource centres functioning at secondary special education and vocational training establishments are equipped to modern standards. These information-resource centres have 31 million 830 thousand books, and nearly 4 million 200 thousand readers, including more than 1 million 476 thousand students, use them,” says Komiljon Mavlonov, chief specialist of the secondary special education and vocational training centre of the Higher and Secondary Special Education Ministry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the contest, the teams of information-resource centres of secondary special education and vocational training establishments displayed albums and websites that they had created and answered test questions.
The information-resource centre of academic lyceum No 2 under the Andijon mechanical engineering institute achieved first place.
“Today’s victory places a big responsibility on every member of our team and prompts us to work even better,” says Muhayo Soliyeva, the chief of the information-resource centre of academic lyceum No 2 under the Andijon mechanical engineering institute.
Certificates of merit and memorable gifts were given to the winners and runners-up.
