The beautiful landscapes of Markhamat district fascinate tourists

Andijan region is one of the regions with great potential in tourism. Therefore, active work is being carried out in the region, which allows increasing the flow of tourists.

Certain work in tourism development is also being carried out in Markhamat district. If you drive along the Andijan – Markhamat highway, then after Shakhrikhansay you will witness a unique landscape.

On both sides of the route at the hills you will see teahouses, monuments and yurts that demonstrate the tourism potential of the region. And on the top of the hill is the sanatorium “Markhamat”, which complements the beauty of the landscape. At present, the Markhamat district has 62 cultural heritage sites – archaeological and architectural monuments, shrines. Most of the sights are included in the tourist routes.

To organize and develop domestic tourism in the district, the Mingtepa public fund has developed a project for the construction of 15 small tourist facilities along the roads. To date, 6 of them have been put into operation.

The national object of ethnotourism, which is located in the house of the Uzbek circus performer Yunusali Goziyev in “Bobokhuroson” mahalla, is also one of the most attractive places for tourists.

A special role in the development of tourism in Markhamat district is played by the archaeological site of Mingtepa.

“This unique monument reflects the ancient history of our people, it is of great interest not only to local, but also to foreign tourists”, said Ortikali Khusanov, Head of “Mingtepa Cultural Heritage” Public Fund. – The ruins of Mingtepa give a lot of information about the ancient history of our people.
