Ambassador of Uzbekistan Kadambay Sultanov met with the new Minister for the Interior of Latvia Māris Kučinskis.
The parties exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation in protecting the rights of citizens of Uzbekistan located in the territory of Latvia, as well as the resumption and intensification of the activities of bilateral consultation mechanisms of interagency partnership.
The Ambassador informed the Latvian side about the results of large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Māris Kučinskis positively assessed the transformations in the law enforcement system of Uzbekistan. The Minister stated that the Latvian side is interested in further building up interagency consultations and cooperation.
The parties also discussed the schedule and agenda of the upcoming contacts at various levels through the profile structures of the two countries.
