The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, Oleg Malginov, in connection with the completion of his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects for further development of relations between Uzbekistan and Russia, emphasizing the high level of strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries. Special attention was paid to supporting joint initiatives to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Oleg Malginov has been the head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Tashkent since March 5, 2021. Prior to his appointment to Uzbekistan, he served as Director of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights at the Russian Foreign Ministry.
