The Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met with the Director of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Umbriel Temiraliev, who arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit.

The parties discussed the current status and further measures to accelerate the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Kyrgyz Republic in January this year.

The current stages and upcoming joint plans for the accelerated implementation of the agreements reached in the chemical and textile industries, mechanical engineering, the production of textile, pharmaceutical, leather and footwear products, building materials, electrical engineering, as well as in energy, agriculture, transport, logistics and tourism were considered.

The parties discussed the implementation of agreements on the creation of intensive orchards and high-tech greenhouses in the territories of the two countries. Specific locations and initiators of joint projects have already been defined. Readiness was expressed to provide comprehensive assistance to representatives of the business community to speed up the design work.

Views were exchanged on cooperation in the energy sector. The necessary documents are being prepared for adoption as part of the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1.

The activities of Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan Development Fund were considered one of the most important instruments for co-financing investment initiatives to increase industrial cooperation and create connectivity value chains between manufacturers of the two countries.
