The achievement of SDGs in Central Asia discussed
The University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted an international scientific and practical conference on “Opportunities and risks in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Central Asia in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic”.
The participants discussed the current problems of achieving the SDGs in Central Asia in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. The experience on the application of systemic measures to counter the pandemic in the economic, social and health spheres, acquired by the countries of the region, was studied.
The conference consisted of four plenary sessions that touched upon the most pressing issues of the time, including institutional reforms, the need for international cooperation, reducing poverty and inequality among the population.
In their speeches, foreign experts noted the effectiveness and foresight of the reforms, carried out by the President of Uzbekistan, which covered the social sphere during the coronavirus pandemic.
