The 99th Anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s birth celebrated in Tashkent

On the initiative of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan and the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev, Tashkent hosted an event dedicated to the 99th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev’s birth.

Wreaths and flowers were laid at the Embassy at the monument to the national leader Heydar Aliyev, his memory was honored.

A celebration in Hyatt Regency Hotel was attended by ambassadors, representatives of international organizations, government officials, local Azerbaijanis, representatives of the fraternal Uzbekistan people and journalists.

The participants of the ceremony got acquainted with the exhibition reflecting the life and work of Heydar Aliyev, the achievements of Azerbaijan, as well as with photographs about the country’s tourism potential, an exhibition of souvenirs about national culture.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan Huseyn Guliyev spoke about the life and work of the national leader, about the achievements of independent Azerbaijan, the architect and founder of which was this great figure. The Ambassador noted that the current President Ilham Aliyev, who successfully continues the ideas of the great leader, has carried out important work for the prosperity of the country, increasing its economic power and continues to work in this direction.

The diplomat noted the historical merits of Heydar Aliyev in strengthening friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, emphasizing that the activities of this politician led to the development and prosperity of the state.

A documentary film “Explore Azerbaijan” was shown. The film reflects the achievements of Azerbaijan during the years of independence.

The film was shot by Uzbekistan company Sagich Creative Media with the support of the State Committee for Working with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The authors of the idea are Samir Abbasov, Elshan Namazly and Gulnara Asadova.
