Ashgabat hosted the Second Meeting of the Chairmen of the Parliaments of the Central Asian states and the Republic of Korea.

The event on “Cooperation for peace, prosperity and mutual trust” was also attended by the parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismailov, and parliamentarians of the participating countries of the forum.

According to the Parliament of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the main goal of interparliamentary cooperation in the “5+1” format is to give a new impetus and content to strengthen the multilateral dialogue between parliaments. The initiatives put forward will give a powerful impetus to implementing the agreements reached by the countries’ leaders and enrich cooperation with new content.

Bilateral meetings will be held within the framework of the visit of the parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan.

The First Meeting of the Chairmen of the Parliaments of the Central Asian States and the Republic of Korea was held in Seoul on September 19, 2023.
