22:52 / 2024-09-11

In the United States, at the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, events dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence continue.

– Officials, diplomats, our compatriots overseas, and numerous friends of Uzbekistan united to celebrate the holiday of independence, the success achieved by the country over the past years, – said Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United States Furkat Siddikov. – Cultural events, art exhibitions, and Uzbek cuisine left indelible impressions on the guests. I express my sincere gratitude to everyone who shared this joy with us.

In particular, at the festival, held at the Textile Museum at George Washington University, an exhibition of unique modern chapans, suzani and carpets was organized, which told about the skill of embroiderers and textile workers. Many visitors to the exhibition were amazed by the traditional embroidery products made by Marhamat Umarova and presented by Gulnor-Art LLC.

– It is gratifying that the number of Americans who care about the culture and crafts of our country is growing, – Mr. Siddikov noted.
