United Nations Under-Secretary-General, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Europe Tatiana Molcean, who participated in the Tashkent International Investment Forum, visited the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Major General Bekmurod Abdullayev, the parties noted the dynamic development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union, including in road safety.

The issues of implementing the initiatives put forward by the President of Uzbekistan at the First Summit of the UN Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia, held in Baku in November 2023, as well as their practical promotion were discussed.

The important aspects of cooperation with the Economic Commission for Europe in transport, innovation, environmental protection, and gender equality in Uzbekistan were highlighted.

Extensive information was provided on reforms in road safety in Uzbekistan, and tasks for further cooperation were identified.
