Nukus hosted a meeting on ensuring the implementation of the Integrated Development Program of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in 2020-2023 and the upcoming tasks in this direction with participation of the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva.

Chairperson of the Senate touched upon the issue of ensuring goals for development and improvement of living standards, set by the President at the out-of-schedule session of the Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan in October. The Integrated Development Program of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in 2020-2023 has been developed for this purpose. The program defines the growth points of each city and district, and identifies those responsible for implementing the planned tasks.

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan K.Sariyev provided information about projects that are planned to be implemented under the program.

As it was noted, in 2020-2022, 1,359 investment projects worth 12 trillion 300 billion UZS will be implemented in the Aral Sea Region. Foreign direct investment will make up $523 million, and about 20,000 new jobs will be created.

Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan noted that deputies are assigned to cities and regions and will be personally responsible for the timely and qualitative execution of tasks.

At the meeting, senators and deputies of the Jokargy Kenes also expressed their opinions and suggestions on some problems that arise during the implementation of projects at places. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan M. Kamalov.
